Capstone Productions Inc.

Releases New El Paso Gold DVD

El Paso, Texas – Tourism goes high tech with the release of Capstone Productions Inc.’s newest history and heritage DVD. Titled “El Paso’s Historic Sites and Markers,” the DVD uses Global Positioning System technology to locate more than 200 historic markers in El Paso County, Texas.

The GPS information is presented in two forms: easy-to-read slide shows on the DVD, and a bonus GPS Directory booklet included with each DVD.

The all-digital DVD also features 28 short TV segments that show viewers the fascinating heritage of El Paso’s historic locations, markers and museums.

“This first of its kind DVD provides a new way for visitors, tourists and native El Pasoans to learn more about our region’s rich history and heritage,” said Jackson Polk, producer and narrator of the DVD. “Just load the latitude and longitude coordinates for the historic sites into your car or hand-held GPS system, and you can get driving directions to each site or marker in El Paso County.”

The “El Paso’s Historic Sites and Markers” DVD is a co-production of Capstone Productions and the El Paso County Historical Commission, which promotes and preserves El Paso County history.

“We want more people to know about and to visit El Paso’s historic sites and markers,” said Bernie Sargent, chair of the El Paso County Historical Commission. “We’re pleased to present history using the latest in DVD and GPS technology.”

The El Paso Gold TV programs now on DVD from Capstone Productions Inc. include "Legends of El Paso’s Mountains," "Gunfights of the Old West," "El Paso’s Magoffin Home," "elpasogold Visitors Channel," and "V2 Rocket at White Sands Missile Range, N.M." Several short videos, including "Top of Texas, El Paso’s Four State Parks," "El Paso Gold Poppies," and "The Spirit of El Paso’s Mission Trail" are included as bonus material on some El Paso Gold series DVDs. Several of the Capstone Productions TV programs have been broadcast on El Paso’s PBS station, KCOS.
