El Paso, Texas -- Capstone Productions Inc. announces the creation of elpasogold.com, an Internet-based service that features television programs about the history, culture and heritage of El Paso, Texas. Serving as Capstone Productions' distribution arm, elpasogold.com is a resource for informational materials about the historic El Paso Rio Grande Valley. The Internet-based service shares its name with El Paso Gold, the television series now in production by Capstone Productions Inc.
"The rich heritage of the El Paso area is unsurpassed anywhere in North America," said Jackson H. Polk, president and executive producer of Capstone Productions Inc. "But the heritage is not well known, regionally or nationally. El Paso Gold in both its forms, the TV series and the web-based distribution service, is designed to help educate anyone interested in the history of the El Paso region."
Three half-hour videos about the El Paso area are now available for purchase through the elpasogold.com website. Several more are in production. The programs, which are historical, educational and entertaining, were produced by Capstone Productions Inc. Capstone will include El Paso programs and informational material from other producers, and seeks community input on additional programs to help raise awareness of the area's heritage and contributions.
Polk said "The earliest North American Archaic period settlement of 40 houses has been discovered in El Paso. It is the 5,000 year-old Keystone Site, and sits along the same route that the Spanish settlers used in 1598, the famous Camino Real. Those early Spaniards held the first Thanksgiving feast with Native Americans right here along the Rio Grande, decades before the Pilgrims in Massachusetts. El Paso's history is real, unique and prominent in the development of North America. The purpose of the El Paso Gold project is to make sure El Paso is included in world thinking about mankind's settlement of the continent."
For more information on El Paso Gold television programs currently available, go online to www.elpasogold.com. The website includes descriptions and pictures from the videos, as well as an order from that can be printed out and mailed to Capstone Productions Inc. The cost is $20 per video, plus $5 shipping and handling per order. Orders mailed to Texas addresses should add $1.65 for state sales tax per tape.
Capstone Productions Inc. is an all-digital TV production facility based in El Paso, Texas, specializing in historical TV documentaries. Capstone programs have recently won national Telly Awards.
